Career Guidance for Class XII Students @ Pioneer College
The session Inspiring Pathways : Career Guidance for Class XII Students was organised on 22.11.24 in the Conference Hall, Pioneer College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore which aimed to inspire and guide students by highlighting the achievements of renowned personalities and providing practical career advice.
Dr. Anbushiva P.M., Associate Professor in the Department of Tamil, shared his experiences in literature and spoke about various successful personalities who made significant contributions to society. He narrated stories of their hard work and perseverance to inspire students.
He highlighted Thomas Alva Edison’s self-taught journey, Subramania Bharati’s belief in education as a tool for empowerment, Abraham Lincoln’s rise from poverty to become the 16th U.S. President, Periyar’s advocacy for women’s education to achieve equality, and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s achievements as a scientist and 11th President of India, encouraging people to dream big and work hard.
The session was attended by 100 Plus Two students from Pioneer Higher Secondary School, Perianaickenpalayam, Coimbatore. To motivate them further, books authored by Dr. Anbushiva were given to active participants who answered questions during the session.
Mr. G. Padmanabhan, Administrative Officer of Pioneer College of Arts and Science, discussed job opportunities, emphasizing roles requiring IT skills and how to acquire them. He also guided students on preparing for competitive exams like UPSC, TNPSC, SSC, Chartered Accountancy, and Company Secretaryship.
Dr. N. Valarmathy explained the possibilities in higher education, the courses students could pursue, and job placement opportunities in their respective fields. She stressed the importance of education as a gateway to career success.
