Workshop on Mysterious Numbers – Department of Mathematics
On 30.06.2025, the Department of Mathematics organized an insightful workshop titled “Mysterious Numbers.” The programme began at 11:00 a.m. with a prayer song, followed by a warm welcome from Dr. R. Yavanapriya, Head of the Department of Mathematics.
Our Principal Dr. K. Murugesan delivered the presidential address, and Vice Principal Mr. P. Rajappan offered felicitations. The Master of Ceremony was M. Saaraha from II B.Sc. (CS). The Chief Guest was honoured by the dignitaries on the dais.
The Chief Guest, Mr. K.G. Arunesh Hari, a Postgraduate Student from the Department of Mathematics, Bharathiar University, delivered an engaging session on “Mysterious Numbers.”
He shared fascinating insights into mysterious numbers found in geometry, trigonometry, and probability, and demonstrated how such numbers appear in birthday-related games. He also guided students in creating a magic square, shared interesting stories, sparked curiosity, and challenged the audience to think deeper.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by S. Sruthi from II B.Sc. (IT), followed by the National Anthem.
