Pledge Against Untouchability – NSS Initiative

“Say No to Untouchability; Yes to Humanity.”

The National Service Scheme (NSS) of Pioneer College of Arts and Science, Jothipuram, Coimbatore, organised the Pledge Against Untouchability on 30 January 2026 at 11:00 a.m. on the college campus. The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of untouchability and emphasising the importance of social equality and human dignity.

The event was presided over by Dr. K. Murugesan, Principal, who addressed the students on the urgent need to eradicate untouchability from society and uphold the values of equality and respect for all. In his address, he highlighted the role of students in promoting social harmony and justice.

Nearly 100 students actively participated in the programme and took a collective pledge to promote equality and reject all forms of discrimination. The initiative reinforced the core values of humanity, social justice, and inclusive growth.
