Pongal Celebrations at PioneerCAS

Pongal was celebrated with great enthusiasm and traditional fervour on 09 January 2026 at the Pioneer College of Arts and Science (PioneerCAS) campus, showcasing rich traditions, cultural pride, and festive spirit. The celebration aimed to uphold and promote the cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu while fostering unity and joy among students and staff.

The campus was beautifully decorated with kolams, sugarcane, banana leaves, and traditional festoons, creating a vibrant festive atmosphere. The celebrations began with the traditional Pongal cooking ceremony, symbolizing prosperity and expressing gratitude to nature, farmers, and the Sun God. Faculty members and students actively participated, sharing traditional Pongal songs and greetings.

Students showcased their talents through folk dances, songs, and skits highlighting the significance of Pongal and the importance of agriculture in everyday life. Traditional games and activities added excitement and encouraged enthusiastic participation from all.

Dr. K. Murugesan, Principal; Dr. V. Ramachandran, Administrative Officer; and Prof. P. Rajappan, Vice Principal, along with faculty members and students, actively participated and enjoyed the celebrations. The event beautifully reflected the spirit of unity, harmony, and togetherness among the PioneerCAS family.

The event concluded with the distribution of sweet Pongal to everyone present, reinforcing the values of sharing and community bonding. The Pongal celebrations at PioneerCAS – Part 2 were truly memorable, bringing the entire campus together in a joyful and festive spirit.
