The NSS Orientation Programme 2025 at Pioneer College of Arts and Science was held on 23rd July 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Conference Hall, embracing the motto “Not Me, But You” to ignite the spirit of volunteerism among our first-year students.
The event commenced with a soulful rendition of Tamil Thaai Vazhthu by our enthusiastic NSS volunteers, reflecting the rich cultural pride of Tamil Nadu.
Dr. P. Sasikumar, NSS Programme Officer, welcomed the gathering warmly, setting the tone for the meaningful session. In his presidential address, our respected Principal, Dr. K. Murugesan, emphasized the noble essence of social service and the inner joy found in selfless acts, reinforcing that service is not merely an action but a way of life.
The programme was honoured by the presence of Dr. R. Annadurai, NSS Programme Coordinator, Bharathiar University, who served as the Distinguished Speaker. He was formally felicitated by our Principal and Administrative Officer for his notable contributions and enduring support.
In his enlightening address, the Chief Guest elaborated on the origin and evolution of the National Service Scheme, highlighting the discipline, dedication, and opportunities that come with being an NSS volunteer. His talk was filled with motivational stories, references to inspiring leaders, and insights into the government-supported initiatives that empower volunteers. His message left a strong impact on the newly inducted students.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. S. Punithavathy, NSS Programme Officer, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries, staff, and students.
With the active participation of nearly 150 first-year students, the event concluded on a unifying note with the National Anthem, echoing patriotism and shared purpose.
